A big hello to everyone! I started thinking about getting into wetshaving about a month ago. My electric razor was just not cutting it. I stumbled upon this great site and the rest is history. I ordered a Merkur HD and Merkur blades. Then I went to C&E and purchased a badger brush and some almond oil shaving cream. I also picked up some Proraso green tube cream and Proraso A/S balm.
I have since shaved with both creams and love both of them equally. I have always dreaded shaving in the mornings. Not any more!!! I find myself really looking foward to this newfound experience. I am basically focusing on technique and I am not too worried about how close a shave I am getting. Based on all the great advice on this board I know that a closer shave will come in good time. Thanks to everyone!

:thumbup1: Good to hear it! You also started with the shaving rig (Merkur HD) that should be mandatory for all converts to start with!

ARGHHHH. Electric shaver! I tried using a Braun shaver when I was a kid, boy that sucked. Glad to see you've taken the plunge.

Welcome HD. I moved on from an electric shaver too after it failed to hold a charge anymore. I couldn't stand shaving & being corded too! :nono:

I used one of the norelco's that you can use in the shower. My poor neck looked like a chigger farm! Ingrowns and bumps! I ceremoniously tossed it into the trash compactor at work. God that felt so good!
