Anyone know where to find Tabac shaving soap in downtown Washington, DC? I think I'd like to try it, but I am a little leery about the scent. I would like to smell first before purchasing just to see if I like it. I know it's easier/cheaper to find it online, but I'm a touchy feely kind of guy (not in a pervert sort of way).

Bonus points if you know where I might find Proraso here as well.

I currently use L'Occitane Cade SS and love it, but hey if Tabac is cheaper and if so many folks here ononate over it I thought I might give it a try.

Proraso should be in any Bath and Body Works, repackaged as C.O. Bigelow shave cream (it's in a shiny green metallic tube). The store at Pentagon City mall is your best bet from downtown -- just a few metro stops away.

As for Tabac, I'm at a loss -- I've never seen it around here. Another store, Bellacara in Alexandria, does have a halfway decent shave selection (Kiehl's, Molton Brown, some other stuff), and also carries Creed and Diptyque fragrances, among others.

Thanks for the heads up on Bath and Body Works and proraso.

As for the Tabac, I have looked high and low for it here and just can't find it anywhere.

People who don't like the smell of Tabac aren't actually people at all.

But seriously, if you don't like the scent you should be able to sell/trade it on the BST forum pretty easily. Also, if you just order the refill puck you'll pay a little less for the experiment. Or you can play it safe and pass on the tabac for now.

Not really. Keep the box Charles ship to you, and retape it. All in the privacy of your own home.
