Split tubes

I've seen a lot of older 'hollow handle' razors on this forum and on eBay, and many seem to suffer from cracked handles. :eek: I've heard these can be repaired, but can anyone actually explain this process?

There are a couple of ways to go-

The first is to use an epoxy glue to reattach the tube to the ferrule, the usual roughing up and degreasing must be done then clamping until the gluesets up.

The second is to use silver solder to connect them, a jeweler or gunsmith has ability to do this.

I am sure there are more way also :biggrin:
