In a lot of razors that came in last week I found a Gillette Injector razor.. at first glance I thought it was a Trac II but nope, it's an injector. Long handle, chrome strip running length of handle and head, underside is black ribbed plastic. Gillette name on base of handle. Any one know what I'm talking about? Sorry my camera is down.. I couldn't find a single one Ebay.. or various searches on the web.. not a single one!

Yup, they had it out for a couple of years, they work pretty well as injector razors.

I've seen them on the 'bay from time to time. They made one using at least some stainless steel in it. I have a vague idea that I saw them in the stores when they were new.

I remember Gillette had injector razors and blades in the late 60s. I thought the Gillette injector blades worked better in my Schick than Schick's own.

Here you are Rich. The Gillette injector in many ways looks like an early cartridge holder.

I've got one of those same Gillette Injectors. It is one of the razors in my collection that I had purchased new myself. I wish I could recall what year I bought it but I'm afraid I can't.
I always did have a tendency to want to try any new safety razor that came onto the market. From the time I bought my first DE, a Gillette blue tip, I suspect I bought at least 90% of the new models of Gillettes and Schicks that were released and a few other brand models as well. I always kind of liked the injectors but there really aren't any in my current rotation . . . not sure why not ??
After seeing Cutting Edge's pictures, I checked my razor and found that it has a regular single injector blade loaded in it. As I recall, at the time, I wasn't very impressed with the twin injector blades. An interesting thing to note in the first picture . . . I didn't remember that they had called these double injector blades "Trac ll".
Regards,
Tom
I've been looking to try one. Don't seem to show up too often, or they are slipping under my radar disguised as tracIIs

Gillette first came out with the single edge injector blade that was targeting the injector crowd. With the invention and large success of the Trac II, both Schick and Gillette started a twin version for the injector. Schick really did well with their twin-edge blades - they were definitely better than the Trac II (one pat of it was the gap between the blades, which was a bit wider than the gap in the Trac II). Gillette adjusted their injector twin thereafter, and stopped marketing the Trac II injector blades. There are very few of these left actually. In my pictures, one set has the Trac II blades and the other - the improved twinjector blades.
I still enjoy using the Schick twin-edge blades on my injector razor but they are getting scarce :frown:
