I didn't know Charles and Ray Eames dabled in razor design or physics...
Personally I love the Mint, UNUSED razors that come with an old blade in them.

"Picture says it all"!
Don't you just love "ebanics"?
here is another fun one... somewhere along the line, someone spills some fingernail polish on their husband's superspeed. Now it can be sold as a red tip superspeed!
seriously...

You won't believe this... I actually sent that seller a note informing him that the razor he was selling was in fact NOT a Fat Boy... and he sent me back a nasty letter stating... it was a "Fat Boy HANDLED red tip super-speed... to take a look at the picture... DUH!"
Wow... I can't believe what an idiot that guy was. Fortunately it wasn't in very good shape... perhaps a little better than that nailpolish-red tipped superspeed and I don't think he made alot of money on it... but wow...

I didn't see my action as helping him make money. I'm trying to help chop down the chaff that is so confusing to the newbies trying to acquire their own shaving pieces. The gillettes are difficult enough to discern the difference between an Old or a New vs a SS or a Fatboy or an Aristocrat that I figure the fewer sellers calling every Gem and Injector a Fatboy, the better.
On the other hand... maybe if the term "Fatboy" gets applied to EVERYTHING... that will help bring the prices down on the real McCoy!
However you're right. If a guy is going to be a jerk when I'm trying to help him advertise appropriately... I guess he's on his own.

A+ THREAD! WOULD READ AGAIN! THANKS!
Just once, I would love to do some over the top auction, like a super magical wonder miracle cloth that picks up near anything and comes 100 to a pack. It would totally be worth the negative feedback hit when they get their napkins.

Super RARE - Tan-tip Fat boy. ONLY 1 ever made.

Rare Goldtone/brass on the blade covers with nickel plating on the handle.
From the same seller
Unique brass on the twist tip.
creative way to list brassing as if it makes the razor more valuable.
note, this seller is known for being crooked, besides just these two auctions.

Hm, an eBay search on "douchetard" didn't return any results. Could you be more specific about this person's moniker?
I can't link to a live auction, but I suppose I could link to his page (http://myworld.ebay.com/reynoldsart/). If you do a search in the forums for reynoldsart, you will see that he has quite a reputation around here, often referred to as simply "the artist."

I know it would be impractical and biased, but I'd like for there to be a very heavily moderated list of "known [shaving-related] asshats" on the Bay and elsewhere. That's one power of a community; once you do a few of them wrong, or it's obvious to many of them that you're a predator, you can spread the word.
I also know that personal feelings and etc. would interfere with the list. But I can still complain about the lack of such a list. :glare:

That would be the biggest problem right there. I wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it, but people have gone so far as to threaten to sue or simply stop subscribing when their webcomic was up a few hours late or because they didn't like the story anymore. I've had to deal with people like that in non-online business and it's a pain in the ass. If you give some people a chance to be loud, they will take it over and over and over.

ah reynoldsfart why am I not suprised... yes this man has tried to sell/sold a rocket with a head ground to the brass as rare. There are a few things on my short list to avoid on ebay one being him and the other being anything with the word Zeepk in it.
"Mint" "Heavily Gold Plated":
This one also has a cracked handle. I pointed the flaws out to him, he asked if I was making an offer.

In the same vein, I think we should assemble an ugly Frankenrazor and advertise it as "Occam's Razor" Mint condition, Occam hardly ever shaved.
