I just got a shave at a place in Indianapolis, IN called Reds Barber shop I'll post about the shave later but, right now I have the worst case of razor burn I have ever had in my adult life. What can or should I use to treat this burn? I'm totally serious when I say this, my neck hurts and is as red as a strawberry right now. Any help would be great!!

Witch hazel...apply and let it do its thang for a few minutes. Follow with a cool water rinse and some after shave balm.
Good luck.

I have never had it quite that bad, but I would suggest Nivea's Extra Soothing Aftershave Balm (http://www.nivea.com/products/show/111). It works well and you ought to be able to find it locally.
Sorry about your pain.

Non-alcohol based AS, and any ASB. Apply liberally.

Tendskin, homemade tendskin, No-bump RX from Sally Beauty. They are all about the same(aspirin/alcohol) and work great for ingrown hairs and razor burn. It smells pretty bad but really works for me.

See if you can find this locally, at a beauty supply or cosmetic supply or drug store:
Shea Butter (http://www.amazon.com/Queen-Helene-Butter-Solid-Bonus/dp/B000H8ADEI)
Found it here from a recommendation by another member with a similar problem to yours. I've used it in dire circumstances with excellent results.
Best,
Jay

I used some witch hazel, cool water and Nivia smooth blam.. Now I have these little red blood bumps all over my neck and just under my chin. I guess Ill just leave it alone and see how it goes. What about using some 100% Aloe??

I dont think there is anything more for you to say about the shave .
Also a Bio Silk works great for razor burn if your swmbo has some apply it to your face and enjoy the feeling

I wouldn't expect it would hurt. If you are still having pain, it might be worth it. It might also help promote healing. You might just be at the point where you simply need some time to heal.

I think so.. I have to tell you guys here this is the worst razor burn ever! My 10 year old daughter looked at my neck and said "Dad your neck looks all red does it hurt?" From now on.. I'm shaving myself period!!!

Sounds like the barber shop has an appropriate name.
Sorry about your misadventure. As Bill Cosby used to say in one of his routines "All I wanted was a close shave, not a self sacrifice."

I've found that if you have real bad razor burn nothing will really solve the problem but time. You can use aloe vera and stuff containing menthol and you can just as easily put an ice pack on your face. In the end it will be better tomorrow.
Yea, guys just won't learn. They keep going to these butchers.

witch hazel, aloe and shea butter are all good at calming razor burn. any product which uses one or more of these ingredients should do an excellent job.
just make sure to avoid any alcohol-based products because they can inflame sensitive skin, and also avoid moisturizers that contain hydroxy acids for similar reasons.

Three words for fast healing: Tea Tree Oil. I have yet to find anything that works as fast.
