Just going to vent real quick before going to sleep.

I was going to get this Dremel on Amazon.com, and it was only $55! I had it in my cart, decided to look to see if I could get some polishing compound on there, too, took care of an envelope I had to stuff, went downstairs for 10 minutes or so, came back, ready to buy, and the price jumped to $69.95!

It's still 4 cents cheaper than you can find elsewhere, but not as cheap as I could have had it! I almost don't want it now!

Ah, there's tax if I ship to NY. So I'll just go get it at Sears tomorrow. I hope they have the polishing accessories, too.

You may get it cheaper at home depot or lowes.

I'm had Amazon refund me money on prices that dropped minutes after my purchase. I was amazed that all I had to do was drop a note to customer service to get this done. I'm pretty sure the same would work for you.

I got this one (http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Tools/Pages/ToolDetail.aspx?pid=400-3%2f41H)at a pawn shop for around $16.00. It was missing a few bits but they were easily replaced by a trip to home depot.

Well I've got another amazon story for you... Last week I ordered over $100 worth of wet shaving supplies from them, mostly because I had a couple gift cards. Usually I support the little guys, but I wasn't going to let the cards go to waste.

Anyways, after loading up the cart with a fairly significant amount of soaps, creams, blades, aftershaves, etc, I was offered free "super saver" shipping and took it. Over the next couple days I got a few emails from UPS, fed ex, and the USPS. Apparently they're breaking up the order into NINE different boxes  Now I'm going to have to deal with waiting around and tracking down the various delivery men. It will be a hassle for the next week, but at least I won't have to shop for supplies for about a year or more:biggrin:.... I can't wait to try all the new stuff! Combined with the other $100 I spent out of pocket at classicshaving.com, it hsould be a VERY fun next couple of months experimenting:lol:

This is kind of different. It's like going in after a sale and saying "hey, the sale's over, but give me the sale price anyway." I see your point, though. Ah well, at least this way I can have it tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow. I just hope I can find the accessories I want. If not, I can use that nice free two-shipping on Amazon with my trial Prime account.

Yeah, there's a lot of satisfaction involved in going into a store and walking out with something.

They offer the option of bundling it all together to save shipping, or shipping separately as stuff becomes available so you get some of it sooner,
I have spent thousands of bucks with Amazon over the last few years. Not having to pay sales tax compensates for the shipping charges. I like buying stuff but I hate shopping, so I like Amazon.. Incidentally, you can get Derby blades at Amazon now. Used to be, the only DE blades I could find on there were Merkurs.

I wonder if it's because the items are drop shipped from different companies?

Yes, more than likely different vendors. Just because the order is placed on one web page does not mean that vendor has all the items. When I ordered my smoker I added two additional items from the same page, and paid for everything all together. Three different packages.

I noticed the Dremel went back down to $54.95, but from a non-Amazon vendor, so I couldn't get free shipping.

Then it was $54.95 from Amazon. So I did end up buying it today. Should be here in a couple days.

Something similar just happened to me, I was using Google to find the best price on a power rack, and Amazon had it listed as $350 on Google, but when I clicked the link it was $450 at Amazon. Scheisters!

Rapidpotatochip should be able to help you with that. I hear his rack is awesome.

I have a few items of interest stored in my amazon cart right now. It's been quite interesting to watch some of them change in price over the last few weeks. I'd love to see (and be able to comprehend) the fancy math behind the price changes.

Just went out to get some sandpaper and Turtle Wax rubbing compound, and guess what. You guessed it! The Dremel I just bought, on special for cheaper than what I paid!

And because I got the two-day shipping, it already shipped. The last time I got two-day shipping, it was for an Xbox360, and I got the super expensive one just for the HDMI port, and the very next day, the HDMI port came standard on all Xboxes. At least this time I'm only out $0.95+tax and not a hundred or so.

But I have to wait to get it now!

So my Dremel and my two kits came today!

Now what do I do with them? I'm doing all I can not to read the instruction manual.

What if it's three days after your purchase? It just went down. :frown:

EDIT: Found it. I have 30 days! Better do it now before it goes back up.

Try not to let the small stuff get ya down!!! You have a good tool that should provide you with a decade of satisfying use.

Yeah right! After I bought it, I saw a thread here where everyone said to get corded, and I got cordless. Aaaaaaaaaaand! I saw this afterward, too! http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/workshop/21723-quick-easy-razor-cleaning.html

I'm stupit!

Not to mention I melted plastic onto one of my polishing wheel-pad-thingies.

I would like to submit the following site: http://www.priceprotectr.com/. You will save money and you will barely have to lift a finger for it.

And as Gruder said, yes, my rack is awesome.

Happy to help. In fact, it's more of a boon to you Americans than it is to us Canadians since we don't have the same selection you do on Amazon. And it's only books that are covered with their price protection thing for us... *grumble*
