My bits so far for the week (thank you Hans, merwtje, and rum) - some tubs of TOBS and a few blades together with a NEW should be winging their merry way this week!
Is it obvious my SO is away at the mo?

Today at my door was a copy of Russell Adams book: "King Gillette The Man and His Wonderful Shaving Device" and a package from Scott (Hanspleasure) that contained an injector, Black tip SS, and a vintage Merkur(?)
Friday I picked up the Gbar, black handle SS, and Merkur Classic, but was unable to get an image.

Since I'd rather not take a photo of it I'll just say: I finally got a deferred tax refund today from 2004 and since this more than covers the Le Grelot it counts as an "acquisition" in my book

This afternoon on a shopping trip I found a local shop that sells D.R. Harris that I didn't even know existed so I picked up some lavender cream and then popped into T.K Maxx and got some vulfix lavender cream in a tub for £8. Its been a lavender day off today!

I came upon a GEM Micromatic and a Valet this week at an antique store. $2 for the Gem and $10 for the Valet. I think I paid too much for the Valet but it was too cool looking so I bought it anyways.

Took a chance on this on ebay...there was one, blurry, distant pic in the listing but I've wanted one of these for a while, so I went for it...ended up being in MUCH better shape than I had hoped...there are a few stains on the blade that will need to be worked out, but theres no hone wear and the scales are almost perfect...I'm pretty stoked about it:biggrin:

Today was a pretty slow day I had to take the day off work today so i decided to hit the antique shops . all I found was 2 display cases 1 of them had 12 razors in it and the other was empty . I brought the case with the razors in the house and the other one is still in my trunk so the wife does not see it  so no pictures of the other .
I also took out some of the razors so I can start cleaning them up . so the case in the picture only has 5 razors in it in the pictures .
Yes the large one on the top is a W&B chopper
the case is made of Oak

OK, I realize this particular forum is meant for beautiful antique razors and other high-end stuff ... but I still want to show what arrived at my place today, probably the cheapest DE razor in existence, the Wilkinson Sword Classic.
I bought this specifically to use as a travel razor. I use a Merkur HD at home and I wanted an extra razor to use for travelling, one which I wouldn't mind losing or forgetting in an hotel room. But I still want it to be a 'real' razor -- no disposables or cartridges. This Wilkinson seems just what I need. Its reviews (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7412) are pretty positive.
Ordered from Blademail (http://www.blademail.co.uk/acatalog/Classic_Twin_Edge.html) in the UK.
Perhaps I'll try it this weekend.
Best wishes,
Jan Pieter

You'll really like that Le Coultre frameback. Mine gives an excellent shave.
Originally it would have come with a set of four or six blades, so keep an eye out if you didn't get the spares - you might find some kicking around on ebay
Nice Score!

Yesterday in the mail came the Shavemac 220 I traded my Chubby 1 for, along with a partial tub of TOBS St. James shave cream. Holy crap, is this one big brush! It lathered up my QED Chocolate like a dream! I wasn't sure if I would like a really big brush, but my fears flew out the window the second this monster hit my face with its soft, warm luxury! Wonderful brush. Thanks, Sando.

I went to my favorite little antique store today, just a few miles from home. I was shopping for tools, as my regular SE's have been neglected since I decided I like a Feather AC better.
To make a long story short, I spied the Gillette above, and thought, "well, I've tried everything but a DE, it's in good shape, and despite not knowing anything about the razor, I figured that for $3, I could take a chance.
Get home and log in — SCORE!
The SE below I got at the same store a few years ago for $10-$15 dollars. I love that little store. The only problem now is whether to sell it or shave with it . . .

Of course you shave with it! You will want some decent blades though. I have been waiting patiently for a couple of packages. Nothing yet, but I do want to show and tell my special delivery this week. His name is Jameson, and he was born Wednesday at 12:36. He was 8 lbs 2 oz, and 21 inches long.
