I am getting a new digi for my birthday and I get to go pic it out this week. I'm looking for something that will fit nicely into a purse, have optical and digi zoom and have a view finder.
I have a cannon power shot now, it is the one a 4? years ago with a glass lens and I love it but it isn't purse friendly.

Any suggestions on cameras or on where to go look in Canada?

This might fill the bill. It's from Steve's Digicams.

The Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH is offered in five fashionable colors, allowing users to express their creativity and uniqueness. This feature-rich, pocket-sized, 8.0 megapixel, optically image stabilized digital camera is firmly rooted in the traditions of photo excellence and imaging innovation that Canon is known for.

Many stores will give you a 30 day money back guarantee if you're not satisfied. Many people will take a camera home to try it out, and if they don't like it they simply return it and try another. I have a Cannon SD1000, the earlier model of the SD1100 and I love it. It's nice and small, has a view finder, and most importantly takes great pics. We decided on that one after trying two others.

I'm not sure of the specific models out right now, but fuji models have been very good. They have excellent photo quality, shutter lag (response between hitting the button and the photo being taken) is the best of the brands that I've seen, and overall just really good. Not sure if they have viewfinders, though....
