Waiting for me at home is my new acquisition: a Canon Powershot S3 IS. Got a good price so I upgraded from a Powershot A530.

Does anyone have an experience with this model? Hints? Pointers?

I had the S1 and really liked it. I think the S3 is better, from what I've heard. The image stabilization works fantastically.

Thanks, Nick. I am guessing that it will do wonders to read the manual and to fiddle a bit with the settings.

I've got one and love it. but I'm pretty much an "auto settings" user. Professionally, I have access to a nikon coolpix 8700. like it better overall but couldn't find one when we were searching for a new "home" camera. All-in-all, not a bad compromise...just different.
