Well I've been at this for 3-4 weeks now and I finally achieved my first BBS shave. As if that wasn't enought, I got a second BBS last night

A couple of revelations and adjustments were the key for me.
1. On my face N-S is mostly cross-grain. Chin to ear is actually with-the-grain.
2. Just below my jawline is a set of difficult hairs that respond much better to two against-the-grain passes than to 4+ with-grain or croos-grain.
3. The ideal setting, for me, on my Vision is more open between S and I. (here VIS*ION)

In these shaves I used passes as follows:
1 With grain (except problem spot)
2 Cross grain (except problem spot)
2 Against grain (problem spot only)
Couple of small Touch and Cuts

BBS #1
1. Hot towels
2. Prorasso pre-shave
3. Hot Taylor's Lavendar prepped in the god-like Moss Scuttle
4. Vision set between S and I (VIS*ION)
5. Crappy Walgreens alchohol based Which Hazel
6. C&E Sienna after shave balm.

No rash couple of tiny wheepers. BBS!!!!

BBS #2
1. Hot towels
2. Prorasso pre-shave
3. Another hot towel on top of the preshave
4. Hot Prorasso cream prepped in the god-like Moss Scuttle
4. Vision set between S and I (VIS*ION)
5. Crappy Walgreens alchohol based Which Hazel
6. Prorasso after shave balm.

No rash, NO nicks, BBS!!!!

I made my wife feel it like 10 times
I am such a happy man!

Now wasn't the effort worth it? Once you have reached the BBS pinnacle, there is no going back.

Good job and enjoy the smoothness- my wife got tired of me having her feel my face.

Congrats BGog!

Now get out the credit card, and let the acquisition disorders go wild:biggrin:

Thanks all!!

As for the aquisition disorders I've already got SCAD and I'm itching to get more aftershaves and perhaps a cologne or two.

I have a Vulfix 2234 and totally love it. So far I havn't got the bug to get more brushes but I'm sure that will come with time :)

Anyway you are all great and the B&B community has devinatly added to the enjoyment of the shave

I've been using a very similar prep routine and having fantastic results.

I too am a happy man!

There is really no better feeling, when it comes to shaving, then when you realize your first really great shave. There's always room for them to get better, but mostly, they'll just happen more often, and with less effort, and life is good.

I stil can't believe that I spent so many years hating shaving until I found wet shaving this year. What a waste, all those years.

Anyway, congrats, and stick around.

Peace,

Pierre
