SOLD
I am selling this stone because I already have three and could use some money to help with the purchase of my custom Tim Zowada razor. To my knowledge these are the absolute finest natural stones available; many experienced users rate them between 20-40K or even higher. I would put it at least above my vintage German Eschers. Basically if you are looking for the ultimate natural finishing stone then this is it. Here is what Old_School had to say about the stone before I purchased it from him late February.
Stamped with all the normal stamps indicating it is a Nakayama Maruichi hone and also has an extra stamp which says "Japanese razor" (Nihon Kamisori)
The color of this hone is interesting too as it is yellow with some hints of gray and its also got a purple tinge to it. It’s a hard and slow cutting hone.
Dimensions of this beauty are:
Length 19cm (7.48 Inch)
Width 4cm (1.57 inch)
Thickness 3cm (1.18 inch)
This one has a cosmetic imperfection, specifically a vein running across the bottom end; it absolutely does not effect the honing (can’t be felt). The only thing that I have done with it since I got it originally is to lap one side so that the stamps did not have to be lapped off to use. SOLD
