My interest in wetshaving was piqued reading a thread on another forum. I finally took the plunge earlier this month after stumbling upon an Art of Shaving store.

I didn't see much improvement until checking out the tutorials here (thanks!). Now I get a BBS shave without razor burn. My next step is to acquire a DE razor. I am fully prepared for the fact that I may succumb to RAD. Like fountain pen AD, I will just have to learn to cope.

Welcome friend!! Have you found a DE yet??? Plenty of really nice ones can be found right here http://badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=11

A gillette SS or TECH makes a fine first razor, with minimal investment.

Again, welcome and enjoy.

Regards.

Welcome aboard Moose.
Lots of good people here to ask questions and buy razors from.

I agree with the AD comments. They set in quick. But at least the razors make good gifts for friends and family members you may want to convert.

Welcome aboard Moose! The RAD kicks in pretty quick. New Years day I had zero DE's now I have four. My RAD is minor, a lot of the guys here don't even blink if they aquire four in one purchase. I can feel the impulses like a heartbeat to buy more.

Again, thanks to all for the warm welcome. I acquired two DE's today. One I purchased from Dreadpirate earlier in the week (Gillette), and a Gillette Slim Adjustable I found in an antique store today.

I resisted as long as I could, but I gave in a little bit ago. Lathered up, loaded a Derby from the sampler Dreadpirate was kind enough to include into the adjustable, and went to it. Not quite BBS, but then again, no burn, bumps, or reconstructive surgery. Thanks to Mantic for the videos, and to others who have posted advice for us newbies.
