Well, I finally got tired of waiting for Penhaligon's to send me the few samples I requested. I looked up the nearest store and was pleasantly surprised to find that they have one in Edinburgh about twenty minutes walk from where I live.

Shopping at Penhaligon's was honestly a retail experience a cut above the rest. The service was excellent and personal, and the lovely lady helping me walked me through (blind) all the scents I was interested in, and a few I hadn't thought to try.

Bottom line? I walked away with a new AD. As soon as I have the money, Blenheim Bouquet and Endymion are making a permanent appearance on my shelf. She practically filled a bag with samples for me to take home, including a few for SWMBO who is obsessed with roses.

Dealing with Penhaligon's by email has been a complete waste of time. Walking into their store was just about the highlight of my day.

Seriously I whish I could live near london or paris to be able to just walk out and get my hands on samples in the way you guys can.
Now, be cruel and give us more details and reviews. :mad3:

Blenheim seems like more of a daytime fragrance for me. Specifically, one perfectly suited to a warm spring day like today. It reminded me somewhat of a gin and tonic, and came off as extremely limey and fresh on my skin.

Endymion is very sweet at first. It slowly fades until it is a subtly seductive smoothness. Very much a night cologne. I would wear this on a night out, though I would also gladly wear it to a black tie event. If i had to pick one of these excellent scents, it would be this one, as it can be worn year round.

Hammam Bouquet and Opus 1870 are the other two I really am interested in, and will give reviews as soon as I wear them out.

you lucky fellows!
I'd have a long walk from the Northwestern US area (seattle)
When I first started out with penhaligon's i did not like
some of the scents but as time went on and i became
more educated to what a fine scent is i now enjoy most of them.
Blenheim Bouguet, Opus 1870, Endymion, Castile and Elisabethan Rose
occupy a spot on my shelf now.
Plus the wife and daughter have also got into the ladies scents.
I can get myself something as long as i also get something for the wife
Watch out guys it addictive
but you'll like it.
