I have had my Merkur Vision 2000 for a little over 1 month and it is stripped and cleaned every 3 days. Today I noticed that the silver finish is starting to wear off on the handle where the rotating mechanism to open the blade doors runs up and down it (If that makes sense?). Has anyone else encountered such wear?

Same thing with me. Just a little spot on one of the sides.

Hmm. You would have thought they would have managed to get the tolorences right on such a quality product.
Seems little point chasing a replacement if they all do it.

Ya mine is doing this as well. I love the look and feel of this razor, but I still feel the Progress is superior. I get better shaves with the Progress. That said, I'll definitely hang on to the Vision for the coolness factor?
Question, why would you strip and clean it every 3 days? I have used clocked about 4 weeks of shaving on my Vision (not in a row) and still have not cleaned it (I just rinse it under running water after my shaves). It still looks great, since the satin finish sort of hides light soap scum.

The last 3 words in your post are exactly the reason I strip and clean it every 3 days. It's also coincides with how many shaves I get from a blade.
I'm pretty anal about keep things I like in perfect condition too. :001_smile

That is a bummer for a pricey razor. I would work with your point of sales vendor to have it sent back. That is the only way they will imrpove the quality of their products. Good luck.
I've had mine about 6 weeks and noticed a little "wear" around the vision scale.

Hi,
Purchased a Vision on your favorite auction site. When I move the gauge to the least aggressive setting, it lines up with N instead of V. Is there any method to reset it?
Great razor, though a stiptic pencil is your greatest friend in the beginning it seems, gouged my cheek on the second pass.
