Penhaligon's NYC Store Has Closed

Apologies if this is old news, but I walked by the Madison Ave. store tonight and was totally surprised. It's completely cleared out & "For Rent" signs are in the window.

Does anyone know if they'll be opening at a new location? Or will their wares only be available @ Saks? :confused:

Just checked their website. In the "Find a Store" section under "Penhaligon's US Retail Stores" is a box. In the box it says, New York Boutique. Underneath that it says, New Location Coming Soon!

It's not clear to me if that means a new NYC location or a new location somewhere else in the states.

Haha. I just rememberd it was one of those stores. Hell, I've walked down madison a thousand times and never noticed the store. I'm not really into any of either of those brands scents anyway. Hopefully they'll open up another NYC store for the sake of everybody who loves them :-P

While the store was very small, it was a very unique place and had some nice charm :)

The company did send out a letter advising that they were closing the store on March 28th and that their products are still available at Saks. It also stated that they would be opening at another location but it did not state where or when.

Sounds like it will be another NYC location though.

I never received a letter saying they were closing....

In fact, the staff at the store didnt say anything either.....very sad

Its good that Saks still sells it.....but I enjoyed the personal attention that the store employees offered.

Got a letter from Penhaligon's 2 days ago (4/16). Here's a quote:

Penhaligon's regrets to inform you that our boutique located at 870 Madison Avenue, New York, New York will be closing. The boutique's last day of business is scheduled for Wednesday March 26, 2008.

Good thing they sent the letter out before the store closed. :rolleyes:

We are relocating in the immediate area and hope to offer you a new store in the very near future. We will be in touch shortly to inform you of our new premises.
