There's an eBay seller offering what he calls the "Straight Razor Hone System." Do an eBay search for it. It's his own system for sharpening razors, without the need for multiple items. Apparently, it's the equivalent of a bench hone/pasted paddle strop but in a different style. It has sheets of mylar plastic with abrasives of 15, 5, and 0.5 micron, respectively. He says you'll still need your usual leather strop but that this "the need for multiple and expensive water stones, dedicated strops, diamond pastes, and other paraphernalia."
I spoke to the seller and he told me that he will be revising the unit. The current eBay listing is for the older style. He also told me that Lynn Abrams was going to try it out. Reading the item description, Lynn has given it a positive review. Anyone try it or even heard of it?
