Lees Razors Brushes?

Awhile back there was an announcement from Lee, at Lees Razors saying he was carrying a new line of brushes. As I recall some of them were geared toward soap, while others were intended for cream. I don't recall seeing a single post about Lees Brushes since. Has anyone bought one, was it any good, were there problems?? Darn it all, I'm curious; just not curious enough to spend my own money to find out.:001_rolle

I believe they are rebranded vulfix brushes. Also, I think I remember reading that many of them are stiffer than the normal vulfix brushes for use with soap.

I know his Vulfix 660s, especially the best badger models, were designed for soap. The 660 in super is stiffer than most Vulfix brushes, but aren't soap specialists like the best badger versions. There are reviews of the 660 here and at the shave den forum.

I have 2 shaves in on my medium 660 pure. My first impressions are good, but I'll reserve my review for when I have a little more time spent with it.

i bought a 660 best medium. i wasn't impressed like all the other vulfix brushes i have it is too floppy for soaps. i guess it works a little bit better than my 2234. i am still using my tweezerman everday for soaps. i am waiting on my edwin jagger med. silvertip in light horn. i was looking for something a little bit more luxurious for my soaps. the 660 wasn't it for me. so i decided to quit trying to be cheap and went for a top quality brush.

I have the 660 medium in super badger. Wow, is this a nice brush! Works great with either soaps or cream. Not floppy at all.

I posted my review last night. I wrote that it's a bit prickly, but that's not a bad thing. The scrubbiness of the thing really helps pick up a ton of soap and lather really well. I just wouldn't rate it as a soft brush.

From the tone of these postings it sounds like Lees brushes may be considered a good value.

Like I said in my review, it's a monster latherer. It's priced about the same as the C&E BBB. You get a bit more latherability and lose a bit of softness. A fair trade off for a soap user.
