I fished a Gillette slim adjustable out of the 'bay this week. I loaded it with a fresh Derby and used Tryphon's Sandalwood shave cream. The brush is a C&E Super Badger, and C&E Sandalwood AS balm completed the operation this morning. I set the Slim at 5, the shave was close and comfortable. I like this razor!

The last time I tried a Feather, it was in a Merkur, and I nearly tore up my face. Today I tried one in my SS and it was the best shave ever. Hot shower with aloe gel prep, MWF lather while getting ready to shave, two passes WTG, cold water rinse, some Superhazel splash, and a custom aftershave finish.

BBS without going ATG and the Superhazel did some major cooling. No nicks, though...the Superhazel would have "told" me.

I snagged a 62 from redbike here in the marketplace, and I too, think the Slim is a great shaver...I set it at 3-4-5 for the passes, and it is a near-perfect shave w/ a Derby Extra or a red-pack personna
