The Milord was test marketed in 1940 and released for the 1941 Christmas season. The Milord was the first of the safety bar razors following the open comb styles. The Milord, modled after the Sheraton, has a 24 ct gold plate. The production was short lived as WWII broke out. Production resumed in 1946 and ran through 1948.
I have enjoyed my Milord and I am sure you will enjoy yours. Nice snag.

The Milord was introduced in late 1940-41. It offered the solid guard bar for the first time. The razor has 24 C gold plating. It is similar to the Super Speeds of the same era. A mild razor, excellent for a newbie.

Does it have a notch for the blade dispenser? It looks like a ~48 as the 46-47 I have has a band of gold on the handle that is just smooth as well as no notch. I found a good overview for Milords on the net, I will try and dig up the link.
It is notched, but it does have a broken ring or something because the tto knob can move up and down when it is screwed loose. I took a loss on this one. It shaves amazingly. I think you will enjoy it.

Yours is definitely the '48-'50-something. I sold a Y date Milord to Achim, so they were made into the date era at least slightly.
My question to you guys: Which came first, the Ranger Tech or the pre-War Milord? What was the very first bar guard (outside of Techs, i assume)?
The Sheraton and Senator were silver/Gold versions of each other and the Milord and Ranger Tech I think of as silver/gold versions of the first bar guard.

The Ranger tech came right behind the Milord but still in 41'. Yes the Milord and Ranger were the silver/gold equals as are the Sheraton and Senator.

Mine does this as well, it does not seem to hurt the shaving at all. I think it might just be that little screw inside the thing is lose, anyone have more insight?

You might want to correct the spelling in the title and OP, if you still can; and at least in your signature, in any case.
