I have a couple of questions concerning witch hazel and alum.

How do you use these products? When/how do you apply them?

I have recently used an alum block sometimes after shaving. I just rub it on my face with cold water. I find that it leaves my face feeling clean and braced. It also seems to help a bit with tiny cuts (to stop the bleeding). Is alum bad for you?

As for witch hazel, I have some but I really do not know what the best way to use it is.

Any info about these products would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

I just read all those posts and they provided me with tons of information about Alum blocks. It sounds like I am basically using mine correctly. Thanks again.
