Having controlled my SCAD and BAD, I have let my RAD go uncheked:

Bought the following lots from e-bay today:

1176

1177

I'm also winning on two other GEM razors.

Of course, I then had to speak to the folks at Ted Pella and bought

200 GEM stainless steel PTFE coated blades
60 stainless PTFE coated injector blades ($4.50 per cartridge of 20)
30 Feather DE blades.

If anyone wants some of the GEM blades, let me know and I'm sure we can arrange a trade/sale.

The Castle Forbes Lime Shave cream smells fantastic and lathers great. It didn't seem as slick as I expected. I am holding out judgement until I try it again. The Balm also has a great lime scent. It has a consistency similiar to the Proraso A/S balm. Sinks into the skin very quickly and dries to a matte finish...not greasy at all. Really nice A/S Balm. Overall both are very nice products but also quite expensive.

Not that this compares with Rik's haul - but I added two more razors to my collection.

The first is a NIB Ever-Ready

1181

And the second is a GEM micromatic

1182

After reading so much about the injectors and GEM-style razors I decided to give them a try.

I went by C&E today and got their Best Badger brush. I was actaully real suprised to find out we had one here in Tyler TX. Tyler tends to be a bit sparse for specialty type items. Quite the difference between the badger and the Burma Shave Boar brush. Earlier this week, I also got some Thayer's, and some Proraso cream. I'm hoping to get in on one of the decants this month as well. Gonna be iffy moneywise though. It's kinda fortuitous in a way though. Today my boss told me I got a raise. I don't know how much but probably enough to justify a tube of cream or a decant.

Who in Tyler stocks C&E products? And man, I wish I was there. I could stand a trip to Kilgore to the Country Tavern for some ribs!

Today it occured to me that at some point between now and my wedding (in just less than 3 weeks now - eeek!) I am going to have to trim my goatee so that it is nice and neat and presentable on the "big day"... so I went and purchased some beard-trimmer at Walmart... not much of score, eh? Oh well... maybe the next score will be a better one.

Seems like you are shocked too. We actually have a Crabtree and Evelyn store here in Tyler. If your familar with Tyler, it's in the Bergfield Shopping Center.

Aren't those ribs just the best? For a while they were playing around and offering different things but they've gone back to the original Tavern ribs and I must say it's just mighty fine.

Bergfield Center is at the intersection of Old Jacksonville Hwy. and Broadway. Where Major's Pharmacy used to be. La Posada is on Fith Street, just a few blocks away from my favorite place, El Charros.

This is an old, 3 piece open comb razor. The exposure looks to be quite mild, although it is uneven on one side. This will probably be added to the growing pile of razors I will never use.

Just got a three-pack of decants from Scotto.

Knize Ten - pretty powerful stuff, sort of like a men's Channel #5 and definitely not for the office

Atkinsons English Lavender - goes on strong but quickly (like in 10 - 15 minutes) dries down to a very nice light scent.

Musgo Real #2 - Haven't tried this one, but I have high hopes based on the reviews and the smell from the atomizer.

Thanks Scotto.

Your post reminded me of this.
I used to work in the service department of a Dodge dealership. We had a customer who had two Dodge Diplomats. One was an '85, the other an '87. He bough the '87 because he loved his '85 so much and he heard Dodge was going to stop making them.

My acquisitions this week:

Feather blades
Palmolive Lather Cream
C&E Sienna Shave cream

Hello Joe,

The patchouli sandlewood has a hint of sandlewood from just smelling it. Have not worn it yet. All these rollons are extremely potent and patchouli dominant. If you do not like patchouli, this stuff is not for you.

I have been using the Nancy Boy replenishing facial moisturizer on a regular basis. Great scent of cucumbers and very light, not oily. Absorbed quickly. I have also been using the Nancy Boy replenishing face mask. More great cucumber fragrances, some green clay and more. Previously,, I have been using the QED green clay, but I find this Nancy Boy mask to be gentler and could be a daily face mask if so desired. Check them out at www.nancyboy.com.

Cheers,
Richard

One more time!

Been wanting a cucumber toner after using the cucumber facial moisturizer and face mask from Nancy Boy. Well, found it at www.bellalucce.com.

Very gentle toner with the great scent of cucumber and its properties. Perfect to use anytime, but best right after a Nancy Boy replenishing face mask or prior to a Nancy Boy application of the replenishing facial moisturizer.

Richard

Where did you order the speik products from?

I got those at the brick & mortar version of www.smallflower.com, which is the "Merz Apothecary" inside the Marshall & Fields (now Macy's) on State Street.

I have also found Speick at good prices on Amazon, via third parties, but I didn't know what these products were all about so I wanted to touch/feel/smell.

TraderJoe

The Cologne is quite intriguing. Out of the bottle, it smells very citrus-influenced. On the person, and dried down, it morphs into a great woody-spicy (but not peppery) blend. Very well done. I've only put it on once, and didn't use very much so I can't speak to the staying power...but I WILL do a review sometime soon.
