Has anyone heard of this company? I've looked in this forum and Googled them but I can't find any information.
The brush says on the faux-ivory handle:
Sterilized
"P" in an inverted triangle. (The company logo, I guess?)
MADE IN U.S.A.
CASED WITH
PURE BADGER
500 (The model number?)
I picked up this brush for $9 in an antique store two days ago. It was in the original box, and appears to have never been used.
I used it for the first time today, and it works nicely. A big improvement over the no-name Chinese made brush I started with a few weeks ago.
It has a huge, nicely rounded bloom. There is a dark band on the bristles about one inch up from the handle, but I suspect this is a dye job, as it doesn't go all the way through, its just on the outer bristles.
It felt a little bit stiff the first time, but I suppose it will soften up as it breaks in. Even the first time, it was much softer than the Chinese brush which I've been using for a month now.
At the same store, I picked up 2 Gillettes: A FatBoy (H3) and a BlackLongHandle (U2) that were $3 and $5, respectively. Both razors were very clean, just needed sterilizing in H2O2, and I'm good to go.
So ... back to my original question. What can you tell me about this brush?
