Please allow me to introduce myself:

Username:
philamac

What is your real name?
phil

What are your nicknames/aliases?

Where do you live?
Northern Ireland

What is your age (or) generation?
35

What are you in the real world?
Junior manager

What is your favorite shave setup?
Currently:
EJ Best badger
GFT Violet cream
GFT Coral Skin food
Roger & Gallet AfterShave
Am experimenting with a DE following years of a Mach3. The DE is a cheapo Boots own brand while I consider a Merkur HD or Progress

What are your hobbies and favorite activities?
Music, movies, reading and an interest in Single malts.

What else should the members of B&B know about you?
I am convinced after a year's use that a badger brush and good cream improve the shave, but not yet sure that a safety razor will be better for me than a Mach3.........so I hope I am not blackballed from the forum at this early stage.
Though the acquisition disorders are something I am falling a willing victim to so I will probably get the Merkur and a nice Edwin Jagger briarwood handle for the Mach 3.

Never heard of Boots brand... Is that an Irish one? And don't worry if you don't fall in love the the DE, plenty of people here will still eagerly help support any acquisition of SCAD, SBAD, etc.

Oh yeah. And welcome to the group.

Welcome Phil. We will not hold the M3 against you at this early stage. We will likely hound you from time to time to give the DE an honest shot though:001_smile
Cheers,
Jeff

Thank you guys for the warm welcome.

Jameson's or Bush, both wonderful stuff, also a big fan of Power's.

Boots is a massive chain of chemists in the who do their own blades, as well as creams and soaps though I have not tried them, see www.boots.com

Apart from the odd business trip or holiday trip to London when I get the chance to nip into Taylor's, Trumper's and DR Harris' shops in Jermyn Street I get all my stuff off the internet as stockists here seem to be thin on the ground.

Actually, I tragically have little experience with Irish whiskeys, living out here in the Corona- and Tequila-chugging Arizona desert. All I have tried are Jameson's and Bushmills 1608... looks like I have some drinking to do!

The problem is, my SCAD has cut off the cash flow for my LAD (Liquor acquisition disorder). A fact about which my face and liver are quite happy.
