View Full Version : Has anyone here actually knotted a brush?

Hi, I'm curious about this, because I think making my own brush would be a fun project. It just occurs to me that it would really be my own brush if I built the head of the brush from scratch.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about taking a knot and setting it into a handle. I'm talking about taking a bunch of badger hairs, shaping them, and binding them together at the base.

It just seems to me that the possibilities for controlling things like shape, diameter, density and loft are endless, if you know how to do it yourself. Anyway, has anyone here researched suppliers of badger hair, glues (or other binding materials), and tried to figure out how to do this?
