Nice! :w00t:
They must've just finished up a big batch -- I received mine last week. I got the Cobalt/Purple glaze. And so far I love it -- altho I wouldn't mind if it took a bit more water than it does.
Congrats!

Thanks, this thing is great! I just tried it out and am very impressed. The Chubby is a little small, making it kind of messy to use, but my larger brushes should fit perfectly.

Is this a Bengall?
No, its actually a Joseph Allen Non XLL. Its a great looking razor and way heavier than it looks.

I gotta start taking a different way home.:biggrin:
I had a mega haul this week. I got a "lot" on ebay and I hit some antique stores in my Mom's town over easter. Overall pretty pleased.

My Grandpa just gave me 3 old razors upon my mention of collecting old gillettes. I was grinning ear to ear when he pulled a black tip '51 SS, a regular '61 SS, and a '60 fat boy. And 16, yes 16 unopened packs of old gillete "spoiler" blades all still on the card.

That is beyond cool. I would love to have a family member's razor. I asked my mom if she had my Dad's old ones or my Grandpas. She never thought they would be worth keeping around. Congratulations!

Thats what makes these razors very special to me. So far I have enjoyed every second shaving with them. My other grandparents are digging around for some old DE's too!
A new to me purchased arrived:
That is a great brand. Awesome shavers IMO. You say it is heavy is it a quarter hollow blade?

Arrived home from work this afternoon and there was a box on the kitchen counter. SWMBO says (with a slight tone of weariness & resignation ) "A package came for you.....what's in it?"
"A bottle of aftershave (Speick)......wanna smell it?"
"Maybe later. Oh, why didn't you ever open that box of razors Mom & Dad brought you?"
"WHAT BOX OF RAZORS????? choking slightly on a mouthful of Diet Coke.."
"Oh, I thought told you.....Mom & Dad brought you a box of stuff last week..."
OK, so I locate this box in the laundry room and start going through it......a couple decrepit stroppers, a cruddy Auto Strop, an equally cruddy Rolls, a couple of nice 2-piece Gems, a bakelite 3-piece DE,.......so far nothing remarkable.
Then, a tattered box I immediately recognize as a Khaki Set; the razor inside was in decent shape, even correctly stamped "Property U.S. Army".
Inside the blade box were some honest-to-goodness Gillette Kroman blades. For those who may not know, these are very rare....a sealed box of them went for $100+ on eBay last year if memory serves.
Then, at the very bottom of the box, a gen-u-wine 1904 Double Ring....my first.
Rodd,
Where'd you get the Badger knots?
www.thegoldennib.com I posted a zebra wood brush I made with them a week ago. Other people wanted one. Making 1 for a friend, 2 for other forum members, and I decided I needed one in best in addition to my silvertip. I really like my silvertip. Obviously I will make them for people, but it is pretty fun to do if you already have the tools. Check it out.

How would you rate the quality? I have some really cool old brushes coming in a lot and it would be great to put some new knots in them.

Picked up my first Edwin Jagger last night, large Ivory in Best. Kinda looks like a Chubby handle with a high loft:

Lathered very nicely with TOBS Almond, but the little bugger shed 4 or 5 hairs on one shave. If this keeps up, back it goes!!!

Arrived this morning.
The Tabac freak that I am I was able to find a pre era cologne bottle (nos) and it still smells deliciouuuuuuus!
http://members.cox.net/onlineserver/bb/tabac.jpg
Also a very nice AS and Cologne which is available locally in Belgium, Holland, Germany and Italy very but hard to find in the US. I wished they would make this more available in the US. I know the B&B members would love it.

I arrived home last evening to find this on the table.
It was in pretty bad shape, dial stuck solid, custom paint job bent rod, and no shine. After a couple hours of scrubbing, taking it apart, straighting the rod and realigning it all, some polish and sterile bath it's ready to go.
I can't wait til the morning to give it a ride....

Still has a pretty decent bevel and not too much hone wear. Not sure if the scales are original (Jlander, any clue?) but I doubt it. Just needs some cosmetic touch ups, a fresh honing and, in the future, I'd like to get some custom yellowheart scales made up for it.

It still has the red fake blade in place!
Now the question of the day is: Do I shave with it or not?

"To soil or not to soil, that is the question." I have a mint Stahly Live Blade (even has the customer return card) that has been the subject of such pondering for months. I REALLY want to try it, but I may have to find a lesser quality one. Then again...
Anyway, nice find! Have fun wrestling with the "do I or don't I" dilemma! It's a side effect of RAD, isn't it? :cursing: Let us know how it shaves if you do the deed.

As always a pleasure to do business with Charles/QED and extreme fast shipping as well!

I got a package from SCS containing:
New Spice EDT
Embrace EDT
Bay Rum with a Twist aftershave milk
This stuff is Awesome. Thank you Sue for making that for me!
Also, just got off the phone with a guy who upon receipt of a check will be sending me 32 Gillettes. His entire collection. More on that next week.

100 Derby blades (splitting with another BB member)
1x GFT Limes shave soap w/ bowl (parents rock)
1x tub Coates Lime
1x tub Classicshaving.com unscented cream
200 Feather blades (for less than $64, shipped! Thanks, ebay!!)
Classicshaving.com brush cleaner
Haven't used the Coates Lime yet but I have 2 observations. The first is that the cream looks dehydrated on top -- I'm hoping a bit of stirring will help that out. The second is that the lime smell is there but there's also a sharp chemical-like tang to the scent. Maybe stirring will help this, too ... I certainly hope so ....

I just won this
http://i2.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/dc/17/8bea_1.JPG
When it arrives I will know more. But lets just say it was used 4 times by the seller and it wasn't for him so I got it for a complete steal. He says he's given it a going over with a norton 4k/8k and stropped, but I may still consider sending it to a UK based honer to get it into proper shave condition. Now I need a strop!
I toddled off to the postal depot on Saturday morning to pick up...
A Merkur 34G
A Salter brush to replace my Carter & Bond brush (given to my dad)
A tube of Musgo Real
Musgo AS splash
T&H Trafalgar cologne
I also got some blades and a tube of TOBS Avocado for a buddy.
