This is a G4 gillette slim adjustable. See the dot on the inside of the silo door (pictures below)? It looks factory done and it is in the exact place on both doors. I have never seen this on a slim and I have seen a lot of slims. Any ideas guys... is my razor specCcCial?

Checked my M4, H2, and H3, and nothing like that on any of them.

it depends on the machine and the master pattern used to manufacture the part, could be that those silo doors were manufactured from a different master pattern,
the master pattern is the sample or instructuon put in to a metal pressing or cutting machine for it to know how to produce the piece,
update,
my L2 Slim does not have it, but my N4 Slim does,

I would guess they are just alignment marks from the tooling and manufacturing process, maybe Gillette had different machine types in different factorys to produce the razor parts.

The martians (who are among us still) that are responsible for the explosion of the National Reactor Testing Station near Idaho Falls in January of 1961 (the year your razor was made) that killed 3 military technicians ...
planted micro dots in Gillette razors to poison and retard the brains of those males who shave in the free world with tainted shaving foam in cans.
You can see they were largely successful.
Trust no one with a beard.
You have been warned.

Great,
now you'll be responsible for every member on this forum to start twisting open their razors on a Sunday to look for a dot.
Another addiction in the making! Aren't we collectors a strange wicked breed?

What does it mean? Was is a mistake? I though manufacturers did(do) stuff like this intentionally to mean something.

I have no idea on this one. My only guess is that it had to do with the manufacturing process ie; quality/count purposes. Again, just a guess.
I would be interested in finding this out as well.

I found an old picture buried in my computer. There was a noticeable "dot" on each side.

Both hands raised here. In fact, they'll be raised for the next few days at the rate I'm going.

You collectors should not be allowed out and about without a self administering tranquilizer dart kit.
I've said it before but it bears repeating ...
If all the truly sane
who come here often
clapped at the same time
you could still hear the ticking
of a quartz watch.

erah, I'm an MD and hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your razor appears to have caught something. It happens to the best of them, and was most likely contracted in a late night stupor shaving w/a can of foam that had been around the block a few times.
The bumps are perfectly normal and will not cause any shaving issues, but I suggest your razor maintain a steady diet of quality soaps and creams.
