I got this cool little hone in today, two sided. The coarse/dark side feels about 4-6K and the light side feels about 8-12K.http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e183/joke76/DSC06687.jpg

I test sharpened a project razor, and I'm happy to say it works pretty darn well!

The coarse side (with lather) cuts a little faster than a Norton 8k, and the fine side polishes better than the 8K.

If I was more experienced, I would post a review of it, but I'm not experienced enough for that yet.

Very cool looking barber hone. Was it easy to lap?

With the coarse DMT plate? Yes. It was quite a bit softer than my little Carborundum Razor Hone No.106.

The dark/coarse side of the Gem was softer than the light/finish side by quite a bit as well.

For $15 bucks, I couldn't pass it up.

I have a hone from the same company, it has a picture of a raven on it. I've only tried it once, dry it was smooth as glass, wet felt like I was honing through peanut butter. I need to dig that out and give it another try...
