I have to call my grandmother. She likes to hear from us on St. Paddys day.

I didn't even know that St. P day was today. I would have put up the corned beef last night. I'll do it for tomorrow though. I'm not sure what color I'm wearing as I'm slightly red/green color blind but it looks to be a greenish purple and a blue. I never understood the whole pinching thing growing up, I don't mind though.

I have a friend who is Irish and he always used to get somewhat offended by St Patricks day. He didn't like the fact that people who had never even set foot there and had the most tenuous connection (i.e. my grandmother once snogged a drunk Irish sailor so I'm part Irish sort of thing) suddenly decided they were totally Irish for the day!

His motto should have been "Being Irish, it's not a hobby. It's for life"!

Personally I think they should be flattered. Not every culture is so popular. I mean it's not like people all over the world suddenly decide to be French for a day (thank goodness) :001_smile

TCM has an Irish theme today. All the films are about Ireland, Irishmen, etc.
