Apply hair conditioner to wet face while mixing soap

Razor - Fusion (Yes, a Fusion. :eek:I have a Parker and a Merkur but only use on cheeks sometimes. I get my best darn shave with my Fusion with no irritation or ingrowns, ever). 2 with grain. 1 against grain. Touch-up chin area.

Very cold water rinse. Pat dry.

A/S - Master Bay Rum

For me.........I get a BBS every time with this method. I do wish I could do entire face with a DE as I do get a good with and against grain shave on cheek areas.

Random shave comments: Great shave, almost zero burn from the Dominica. God I love Trumpers Sandalwood. :thumbup1: Got 100% of my first pass down with the Feather AC. I don't get as much hair removed in the tricky spots as I do with my DE, but I'm not getting any rash, irritation, etc on my neck. Methinks a decent accomplishment so far given the fact that I'm really just dabbling with the Feather AC.

This was the first time I've used a Feather. Having read about their reputation I've been very wary of giving them a go. But after yesterday's crappy shave w/a Derby I figured it was time to try it out.

I went ve-e-e-e-ry slowly & carefully. Only had time for 2 passes -- WTG & XTG -- along with some blade-buffing on my chin & along both side of my jawline. The net result was, for the most part, a smooth, irritation-free shave! I got a bit of irritation/weepers on the lower-left part of my neck but on the whole, this 2-pass shave was smoother & closer than most 3-pass shaves I've done to date! I think I've found my new blade! :biggrin:

Had an "unusual" shave night tonight...starting with a shave commencing at 1:30 AM...

Didn't notice the pre/post doing much for the shave...the KMF looks great (the lather looks super luxurious), but I just didn't feel the same "slip" as with other soaps/creams...not that it was bad...but just not as good as others.

This was also my first time trying a Booster product (this was a sample from the box pass)...couldn't place the scent of this one at first, but quickly realized it is a close relative of Old Spice...less sweet (a little more spice) but, IMHO, a first cousin (or perhaps step brother). This is what I imagine the Shulton Old Spice smelled a bit like...but I have nothing to base this on (having never smelled the old version). It worked pretty well, but did seem to dry my face a bit more than other alcohol-based ASs (like Speick or Musgo).

After all has been said and done, though, it was a nice shave and I'm still pretty smooth this morning (I'm always smooth, but I'm speaking specifically about my face here).

1903 Gillette DR (Thanks AaronX)-Lovely shaver. Gillette got it right the first time out. Gillette needs to blow the dust off of the dies on these things and put them back into active production!! Call your congressman!!

My shave was a mixed bag today:

The Good: My stropping skills are improving rapidly. Got a real sharp edge today
The Bad: Nicked myself up quite a bit with the aforementioned sharp edge
The Ugly: I dinged the lateral edge of my razor by the point. BOOOOO!!!

Looks like a straight razor hiatus is in the cards for me. I'll have to send the poor fella out to someone who can remedy the situation.
