How do you like the Men-U Premieere Brush? It was the first brush I ever owned, and although I didn't like it to begin with, lately I have been impressed with its performance. It would be interesting to know what others thought of it

I like it ....but not as much as my badger brushes. The Men-U brush could almost make lather from a stone. My major problem is the rigidity of the bristle. The brush has a tendency to flick lather and water everywhere. Takes an awfully long time to clean the mess off the mirror!!

I love this 1960 Fat Boy - what a great razor! I have it set on 4 and the shaves are really fantastic so far. First time using the Proraso Liquid post stuff - picked it up at Target yesterday. Not bad at all, but not as good as the Feather Kanwa. I'll save it for my "All Proraso Day" - this stuff will be in my rotation for the rest of my life I think...

I can't speak for the Taylors Shave Stick, but love using my QED's. The good thing about the QED Sticks is if you don't like using them in stick format you can melt them down into a container. Some people prefer this technique.

The Feather just cut thru the beard like a hot knive thru butter, I just got careless I think handled them as if they were Derby´s you CANT I still shaved very slow. 2nd pass saw about 5 dots of blood popping up. some warm water and they went away they were superficial did a 3 pass thats enough before going to bed.

Second time with the Feather AC, face felt a bit more tender this time, but still no nicks or cuts. The Pre de Provence soap is very slick and moisturising so that helped a lot.

Hi , I have two of those brushes on my way, was planning on giving away one of them to a friend in a surprise package to Sweden.
Reading this it aint making it fun , would you guys then advice better to get him a Muhle boar bristle instead ? then this Men-U brush ?

Hi Rene,
If you use a very delicate touch, and paint the lather on instead of swirling the brush around on your face you should be alright. It needs to be handled slightly differently than other brushes in my opinion, thats all. Within the lineup of Men U products there is no face scrub, the brush is designed to fill that role so for those who like scrubby brushes or want a really good exfoliation it is a fine choice. The real standout quality of the men u brush is its ability to make lather, just like madmedic said it could make lather from a stone.

I contacted my agent this morning requesting what he had in his warehouse ARKO wise ,he was out on Sensitive so I guess he gave me his last tube.

Did the four pass today (ala Ron), BBS on more than 90% of bearded area! I THOUGHT I knew what BBS was.......well now I REALLY do. I had the blade exposure at 2 for all 4 passes. I think Q3 & Q4 need it dialed higher, as the 10% non-BBS was on the neck.

Rene, I love ALL the Arko creams, and of course, the soap.The Commando is very, very pleasant both in lather and scent and in over all performance, and I also enjoy the soothing feeling it gives me. Arko is not an easy brand to find in the USA, it seems to be more available in Europe, and in Canada, it's practically unheard of. Check out www.tulumba.com and see what they have, the service is good, so is the price structure.

Despite preaching the benefits of SE razors for a while now, based on my experience with the GEM's, this is the first time I have used an Ever Ready. The angle with this is a little different than with a GEM or a Schick, but I found the sweet spot quickly enough and enjoyed a very close, comfortable shave.

I was like WHAT !!!! I never get compliments on cologne but she had to say something about B&B and she is not a cologne person at all if that aint proof B&B Rocks I dont know what is offcourse 3 spritzes your bathing in MASCULINITY ! 1 spritz at your chest and you can simply get a sniff when no one is watching put your nose under your shirt..lucky im all alone at work..can sniff till I drop.......

First use of the blade , it is wrapped prof. enough just like the Derby's are packed. The blade looks extreme shiny and sharp when opening the paperfoil.

unfortunatly looks can deceive, its not that I got a bad shave its a good shave very smooth in the end using PSO it still showed how much tiny stubble still came off from the face went against the grain on the upper lip and whole face using PSO.

I would put this blade in low class compared to a Derby and certainly doesnt hold a candle to a Feather.

This blade would get hurt on my Brother Kyle''s face ! :eek:
For the money you can get a better blade.it feels very draggy. but fair is fair I got no nicks or cuts. perhaps this blade will do better in a fatboy on 9 who knows still I know how a Feather or Derby behaves in the Superspeed.

Second day with the Ever Ready, and although I was concerned about shaving with what I assume is an industrial blade, things couldn't be better. The Castile is my fourth Penhaligons cream, better than the Endymion and Douro, but nowhere near as good as the Hammam Bouquet (scent wise, they all shave superbly)

After using the Derby's for a while and then going back to the Merkur, my view is there is absolutely no comparison and I don't know how I shaved with the Merkurs (didn't realize there was anything better out there and this probably explains why I didn't use a DE everyday - it was only the third shave with the blade and its already well past its best before date - the only shave that was decent was the first one).

I promised myself that I would be sensible, start by using a straight once a week or so; well that was never going to happen was it?:lol: Still, if I can't restrain myself, then at least I should be able to stick with a smaller straight whilst learning the ropes. Wrong again! Even before I started out with straights Henckels ( along with Dubl Duck) was a name that jumped out at me, and today was the first day I used my whopping 15/16 friodur. The general opinion is that Henckels are good but overpriced, I don't really have enough experience to compare them to other brands, but all I know is that 1 N-S pass and I had the closest shave I've ever received. This razor is phenomenal. It's going to take more time to learn properly but the Friodur definitely has a place in my regular rotation.

I use the new formulation of the AS splash, and it is scented with the classic Musgo scent....its a great AS to boot. I haven't tried any of the colognes yet, but I am bound to give them a go at some point.

It was my second day using the feather after a horrible first day. However with the Fatboy the feather really pulled through and I mean REALLY!! This is the closet and most irritation free shave I have EVER had. Usually when I apply my Thayer’s witch hazel after a shave there is a heavy sting which I am now used to...however when it was time to apply my witch hazel after today shave there was barely any sting...I say barely because there always will be a little sting no matter how irritation free your shave is due to the high alcohol content in Extra Strength Witch Hazel. ...I was completely shocked...Now my RAD kicked ion again and am trying to find back ups of this wonder razor.

No shave today , well shaved the back of my shoulders lots of hair there with a disposable BIC versus the FATBOY /EJ Force blade. Fatboy won cuts thru anything. I broke out like crazy about 12 acne spots there I had a sport massage this thursday she forgot to wipe off the massage oil like she should I guess my skin reacted badly to it broke out bad.

Took a dead sea mineral Mud mask followed by chanel a/s moisturiser.
