I recently went to Cuba for about 2 weeks in december and I thought I'd share some of the photos with fellow B&Bers.
I've got to say that Cuba is a beautiful place to visit...everyone I came across was soooooooo nice and friendly....plus the rum and cigars were real cheap:biggrin::biggrin:
Anyways with the pics:

Of the 10 pics selected, the one with the highest number of votes wins.
If you so wish ( no attempt to sway votes here!!:w00t:) you can vote for your fav pic here, (Mines the first one!!):

Very nice pictures. The colors turn out great.
Thanks, the colors do stand out nice. Also, in response to the previous question.......I didn't actually notice any DE Razors there....everyone I stayed with used FUSIONS!!:mad: But they were Brits and Americans...so kinda figures.

Wow....looks awesome. Am hoping with the change of administrations in both countries there shall be a more rational approach to Cuba and perhaps an opportunity for Americans to visit.

Beautiful photos! I voted for your picture. The color and composition are excellent. The colors and the music definitely capture what I would imagine Cuba to be.
I would love to visit. We have a local restaurant here that serves amazing Cuban food and mojitos. Yum!
Great pics. :thumbup1: Shame it takes forever and a day to get there from Oz...

To answer a few questions:
I used a Sony CyberShot 7.2Megapixel...this is a loaner.......my 12megapixel cybershot is broken.....still need to send it off..::mad3:
I actually didn't know that americans couldn't visit Cuba:blushing:
if I had known I would have asked them.....its a shame that americans can't visit, especially considering how close it is to you guys.
I have hundreds of photo's...I just selected some of my favourites.....I'll probably up some more later on.
Thanks for the help

Cuba is a special place. The African slaves, the Spanish, the Natives, and the American influence make the culture very rich and diverse. It's got a great mix of old and new. In some parts, it's like being in 1950s America - the definition of vintage. If I had the money and I could travel there regularly (US laws ), I'd buy a vacation home there.
There are many destitute areas. For a person who has always been fond of the country, it really saddens me to see its current state. Nonetheless, it's still a very beautiful place.

Amann.....I voted for your picture.
Looks like it would be a nice place to visit.
Hopefully Americans can go there easily someday....I mean, we deal with Communist China every single day...Wal-mart, why not Cuba?
Those old cars are cool...they look like they're in really good condition, must be the temperate weather down there.

Lots of fond memories there! I think Havana, even in its present condition, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

I stayed at Sol Luna Mares Resort in Guardalavaca (Holguin).
Do you think I should have entered that pic into the competition instead?

Great photos!
Interesting aside, though, is the fact that Americans may in fact visit Cuba. Of course while finding a direct flight from U.S. soil may be a bit tricky, U.S. travel to Cuba is legal...spending money there, however, is not. Gotta love the beauraucratic red tape that is the Trading With The Enemies Act.

So how does the U.S. Navy get around this law with the local civilians they employ at Guantanamo Bay?

Guantanamo Bay technically isn't Cuba. It's U.S. territory...sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.

That is true. But for many years there was, and maybe still is, a gate for employees that are Cuban citizens to enter and leave Guantanamo. I assume they do not work for free and regardless of where the exchange of funds takes place the workers are/were still Cubans.

I really hope they lift the embargo soon. It is absolutely pointless and has done nothing to get rid of Castro. It will be nice to legally own Cuban cigars as well as visit Cuba, which seems like a great vacation spot only being 90+ miles from Florida and incredibly beautiful.
