The Plisson is an HMW #14. Got it from Clyde's here in NYC. Works great -- I love it!

Continuing my English drug-store shave-stick kick. The Boots smells nice but scent is mild to non present with the generated lather. Easy to generate lather. It seemed like it dried out a bit towards the end of the shave. I give the nod to the Palmolive so far but I would want a few more shaves with each.

This might be the right place for my first post on B&B.

I've only been DE shaving for about two weeks, but it's getting better and better. Today's setup:

Merkur HD (Merkur blade)
Proraso cream, green tube
3 passes (2 x WTG + 1 x ATG)
Cold water splash
Nivea Moisturising ASB

I'm still trying to find a pre-shave routine that really works for me. Today I started off with a warm shower and hair conditioner on the beard. I also gave myself a nice little face massage with the shaving cream before I re-lathered and started the actual shaving (after a tip from some pre-shave thread on this board). I have a feeling I'm pretty close to the perfect pre-shave now, because today's shave was close and practically speaking without irritation.

I have been getting good results by using 100% glycerin. I rub a bit on to my damp face and wait for few minutes. Usually that is the time I am whipping up some lather. The glycerin keeps the face and stubble soft and ready for the blade. It's available in the USA at any drug store and is very inexpensive. I am going to get some essential oils and play around with some scents next.
