View Full Version : Waxing horn scales

I am the happy owner of a nice 6/8 W&B wedge with horn scales. Although it looks good, the scales could be shinier. I oiled them and planned to wax them, but I'm not sure of what to use. I've heard about "Renaissance wax", but I won't shell 30$ for the quantity I need for one razor. Would bee wax do the job? Or something else available locally?
Thanks,
Noc.

Probably any waxed base product would work. Try Pledge!

Check in your local antique shop and pick up a bottle of Howard's Feed and Wax.It's made with beeswax and orange oil.Works great on horn scales. And,it only costs about 6 bucks for a big bottle.
