Again thank you all for the warm welcome. I was so excited for my new stuff to arrive today!!
My wife called me at work around 3:00pm to let me know the package had arrived. She then proceeded to torture me by threatening to open it up and shave her legs.
The second we got our boys to bed, I tore open the box like a kid on christmas morning. Wow... I finaly go to see what I've been reading so much about. (I can't believe how heavy the vision is.. quite nice).

I plugged in my hot-pot to start some water boiling and dug into the directions for my new Vision razor. Quite straight-forward but I wanted to make sure to get the blade inserted properly. I poured some of the boiling water onto my mug and soaked the brush and also poure some on a towel and wrapped it around my face for a few minutes. I then set into making my first lathering.
I have learned so much from reading all of your advice that I felt pretty confident and spent about 3min whipping it up good. My god the Taylor's Lavender smells awesome!
Here is a photo of my first lather.

For my first shave I decided to use a very low setting on the vision (N) and do three passes, N-S, N-S, E-W. I painted that frothy goodness onto my cheeks and got started.
Thanks to all of the incredible advice here I proceeded with the handle near parallel to the floor and tilted it until it started cutting. I applied absolutly no pressure and just let the razor do the work. I used about 2 inch strokes. After I was done, I applied a cool towel, some witch hazel and finally a splash of Aqua Velva.
I actually got away from my first wet shave without any nicks and no detectible razor burn (though we'll see how it feels in the morning). As for closeness, I would say it is about the same as the Mach-3 I used to use and since it was my first wet shave, I have great hopes I'll get great BBS shave once I get a month or two of practice.
I have a few questions but I'll follow with those later.
Thank you all for helping make my first something to remember!
