So this morning I decided to take the advice of Mantic, and others who mentioned it, and added some regular hair conditioner to my shower pre-shave prep.

This morning I used Aussie 3-Minute Miracle, and put it on my beard in addition to the usual hair. Let that soak in while I took care of the rest of the shower (Orange Ylang-Ylang soap, mmm) and then rinsed. Off to the shave with me!

This morning it was KMF Key Lime (yum), my Schick E Series injector, and then Witch Hazel and Trumper Lime Skin Food for the aftershave.

Shaving my neck, which has always been a problem area, was the most comfortable it has been yet. I could just tell that the hairs were softer than I had gotten them before. Perfect? No. But WAY better.

So I think I'll be doing this every time!

Definitely a good idea! I use Aussie conditioner as well - inexpensive and does the job!

No matter what my shave will be that day, I almost always use conditioner on the ole beard.

I've had good luck with Trader Joe's Spa and Citrus conditioners.

I wish I had a Trader Joe's by me.

Conditioner has lovely ingredients in it that do help your scruff to absorb more water (like shaving soap). But, it also has ingredients that help seal and strengthen the hair (unlike shaving soap). If you leave your shaving soap on as long as you do the conditioner, you will get even better results.

Glastonbury is an hour away from me, too far to go more than occassionally.

I too love using conditioner before my Mama Bear's soap.

I always enjoyed using hair conditioner as a pre-shave. I don't know why I stopped. Thanks for reminding me.
