The Williams soap was a pleasant surprise and performed admirably while following the instructions in the Wiki. Yes, it was a bit drying, and yes their was a little bit of "lather maintenance" required, but to echo what many of the William's Second-Chancers have said, "For a buck, it can't be beat."

Overall a great shave but, im really not to happy about the Treet blade i tried tonight it left me smooth but with a few weepers, maybe i need to try it in a different razor. Loving the Taylors Almond that i got today.:thumbup1:

Used my Vulfix super badger brush, which I soaked for a minute or so beforehand as with any brush I use. It's too soft and holds too much water, or at least it threw me off. My lather was too wet. I prefer just the pure badger. The soap dish that I use to generate lather was under two bucks at Walmart. I used a Derby blade in the Progress, set at 5, which I guess is really about a 4 because it zeros slightly above 2. I've used the Progress for almost a week, and can't see much benefit over the Merkur Classic I learned DE shaving with. Can't complain about the Kiss My Face though... except that a tube goes pretty fast. It's fragrance free, but still has a "clean" scent to my nose that I kind of like. I used no balms, lotions or scents afterwards because I prefer to be boring. Just a rinse and pat dry works for me.

very very nice shave...and the JBC cologne went very well with this floral-themed shave...for those who haven't tried it, has a very nice lemon/citrus mix with rose geranium (and other things). I think this cologne would pair nicely with rose scents (although it is not a pure rose scent by any means).

This is the first time for the Lider Shave Cream and it was a fine Lather, nice citrus smell...not too powerful, nice mositure and lube.
It's also my first time with the Trumper's Coral Skin Food. This feels mighty nice. Got this from the Trumpers sample bag.

And I wore my Uber..svelte Bill Ellis Tee shirt. A really finely made and attractive shirt. I'll have to get the other color...It's that nice

How did you like Lucky Tiger?

I occasionally have thoughts that instead of Steve Jobs holding up his index finger and saying it is the styles nature gave us, he holds up a jar of Lucky Tiger (or something like it) and says his index finger is the brush nature gave us.

Today was the third experience with the Lucky Tiger Liquid Cream Shave. I am using a different technique to apply it every day and enjoying it more and more. For today's shave I washed the ol' visage, rubbed a SPLOTTT (scientific measurement of volume) of Lucky Tiger Liquid Cream Shave onto my face and neck followed by a well-soaked 20mm Best Badger brush. I placed a smallish SPLOTTT onto the brush and really had a nice lather for four passes. Great BBS shave that left a nicely moisturized feeling. At present I have suspended the use of my ritual hydrosol and balm/conditioner while using the Lucky Tiger Liquid Cream Shave and After Shave & Facial Tonic. Per the label, it contains "Olive Fruit Oil" and is really very slick stuff. At first I thought greasy and was reticent to put it onto my brush. This is not the case as it rinses clean and, of all things, is still keeping my face soft and well moisturized.:thumbup1:

*Mr Taylor is very, very nice. It has an 80s manly smell to it, just enough spice and wood to it - like Cacharel Homme - I think. This is firmly up there in my top 10 . . . perhaps even top 5.

It reminds me of my first shopping trips for scents in the early 80s smelling EVERYTHING that was available. This was the kind of smell that I would get walking into the more exclusive gent's outfitters. All the wood from the cabinets and the scents from the well-groomed gents serving or browsing.

Today was the first time I tried the Trumpers Almond. I couldn't get enough of the scent. I had enough lather left over for several passes. It was also very slick and moisturizing. In my opinion, the scent and slickness of the Almond is so much better than Trumpers Rose and Violet.

I would take that as challenge and go buy a new Vision and load it up with a Feather blade just to show one and all that I can handle it, except my wife says the last thing I need right now is a new razor and it costs too much anyway.

I particurlarly enjoy this vintage Ever-Ready Badger bristle Brush..number 1000.

I keep the lather bowl in the hot water and it stays warm throughout my shave. I wouldn't be getting a scuttle cept I take the bowl out everytime I rinse my face..It works well but is a pain..somewhat :)
