View Full Version : Sales Experience Subforum?
Hi, all.
I'd just like to suggest a subforum for the Marketplace for buying/selling experiences with other B&B members.
I had a great experience with a purchase from Mysticmonkeytatto and posted a thread saying so.
But it might be nice to have a separate subforum for that kind of thing. Given the craziness at eBay, I'm more inclined to buy/sell with fellow forum members.

If we were to do such a thing, I think a single, stickied thread would be more appropriate than a sub-forum. I am a little concerned about the potential can of worms of allowing negative feedback, though.... I assume it would be extremely rare anyway, but it just doesn't seem good.... And honestly, I'm not sure how useful a positive only feedback thread is, since it is the assumption that transactions will go well....

I had remembered this being discussed a while back: Here's the thread I found.

As Mo observes, the tricky part would be negative feedback. I think there is a community ethic here which encourages individuals to try to resolve problems in private, via pm's. I would hate to see someone post negative feedback about a sales experience without first trying to communicate directly with the other party. I would also be worried about the need to tell the other side of the story, the tendency for things that may have started as a private miscommunication or misunderstanding to become very public heated arguements.
I also a remember a thread in which one member had been incommunicado for more than a week, with a transaciton with another member hanging unfinished. It turned out that the silent member had had a person misfortune in the real world which prevented communication for a period of time.
I guess what I am saying is that I would like to support forum rules and layout that support and foster the postive culture here. Just my $0.02
