So, tonight I decided I wanted to shave, shower, and be ready for school in the morning. I prepped, lathered, and began a three-pass shave. First pass, N-S, which equates to WTG on my face. Lathered up for the second pass, E-W, roughly XTG. Started lathering for the third pass, when my puck gave up on me. It broke into little bits while I was lathering.

Those of you who don't know me very well will be thinking, "The poor man didn't get to finish his shave? That's horrible!"

Those of you who do will be hoping I didn't hurt myself...

which, surprisingly enough, I didn't. I rubbed a bit of hair conditioner on my face, wet it, and went for the third pass, S-N, or ATG, with the surprising result of a nice BBS shave with little irritation. Even my a/s didn't bring it out.

My mom always used to tell me hair conditioner made good shaving cream, and I thought she was nuts. I wouldn't do it every day, but I must admit it wasn't bad.

The using conditioner as shaving cream doesn't surprise me as much as your first pass being Across the Grain. Not any irritation thats amazing not my beard i would be dunking my head into some ice cold milk.

In a pinch I hear bacon grease works great as well, just make sure you get all the gristle out of it and let it cool down a bit.

Disclaimer: this is a joke, I have to say this because I figure if someone is dumb enough not to realize that this is a joke than their dumb enough to try it.

I used conditioner once with a fusion in an emergency. After reading about it as a pre-shave prep on this site. It was ok. Would've probably been better with a DE. Its worth bearing in mind if your really stuck.

The appropriate AD should remedy that situation.

The horror.

whoops, typo. I meant to say WTG. I'll have to edit that.

As far as the AD...I'm working on feeding that. ;)

That's why I keep an extra cake of Van der Hagen in my medicine cabinet.
