I just received my Merkur Slant earlier today and gave it a go tonight for the first shave.

I've been using a Merkur HD all along but I've been reading a lot of good things about the Slant so I bought one this week.

Knowing this is an aggressive razor I was extra careful with my technique.

All I have to say is that I got one of the closest shaves in a very long time. Not that my regular HD didn't give me close shave, but the Slant was on a different level.

I did get a few nicks, but no more or less than I would have had I used the HD.

Great razor. This looks to be my go-to razor going forward.

If anyone is contemplating another Merkur to compliment an HD they already own, I would recommend the Slant.

I just got a slant yesterday. It's still up in the air as to rather or not it will become my main shaver. I can't seem to choose just one...

Great stuff...the slant is a fun one to have in your rotation!

I am now rotating between the Slant and the Mergress. I occasionally use a FatBoy and with a heavy beard (doesn't happen to often) I have an open comb HD. My stable of horses...

Since I got a Merkur Slant about a month ago I haven't shaved with anything else. . . It is a fantastic shaver!

Beleive it or not the slant cured my razor bump/ingrown hair problem on my neck. :w00t: Since the hair on my neck grows sideways I believe the slant gives a true across the grain cut as opposed to the HD.

I got my first slant in the mail yesterday, I was apprehensive about using it so I decided to just go ahead and shave with my rocket hd, after 2 passes I said what the heck, threw a new swede in the slant and did my 3rd pass. I ended up with a really great zero irritation, no nick shave. I'll try it again tonight for all passes :thumbup1:
