I think you really need to work with a new cream or soap for a while to learn the proper ratios... Proraso takes a lot more water than I was using when I first got it. It definitely takes more water than the Floris creams. I know my cheap brush is a factor too.

I finally got a chance, however brief, to shave with this soap and it performed wonderfully on my one-pass shave!

I decided to go with the standard horn instead of one of my B&B finest brushes as the finest are plenty soft and I wanted to see what it would do with one of my standards.

I did not get any sort of an oily feeling on my brush or razor, but I did have the expected difficulty creating lather due to the butters. I don't think I broke the butter barrier, but a good strong lather was eventually produced.

The smell of the soap is great!!

PS: This is the first time in a year and a half that I did not reach for an A/S or balm and it was a very wierd experience to just see what the soap alone was going to do!

The Blue Stars razor is very nice. It is a fairly mild razor, so next time I will try a Feather blade. The longer handle is nice, and the checkering pattern on the shaft makes it the most sure gripped Gillette I have used.
