Got a shipment from Charles:

Tubs of QED Lavender and Frankincense & Myrrh soap

A tub of Taylor's Sandalwood shave cream

A T&H shave soap

and a bag of the French green clay.

I think next time I order more supplies I'm taking the tour: Trumpers, DR Harris, Mitchell's Wool Fat, Institute Karite, etc. That'll probably be about the time I get my new razor from Robert Williams.

Nice Mike..
Speaking of smelly stuff, there's lots of great scents in here, to go along a new Rooney.....many thanks to Charles at QED, Jim at Vintage Blades, and John at Ogallala Bay Rum (as well as the nice lady at L'Occitane who gave me a bunch of samples for SWMBO). Jim also threw in some Harris cream samples with the brush and John some of Ogallala's bath soaps.

That QED B&B soap is some nice smellin' stuff....

A two razor set. 11/16 quarter hollow Hawcroft & Sons "Renown". (no, it's not missing one razor, it's missing something else, but I don't know what)

Cool set! Maybe the missing item is a small hone?

bjrn
01-08-2008, 01:05 PM
Thanks. :)

The seller suggested that as well, but that would make a hone that's 6x25x165mm (~ 0.23x1x6.5 inch). And I think that would be really, really thin for a hone. But at the same time I can't think of anything else either, so I guess it could be a hone.

I don't know what's really "mint" or not, but I'd say I got:

A mint Slim in case with instructions and blades for $2.00 at an antique store.

My friend got a mint Red Tip for $1.00 at an antique store.

Also, I got a bunch of straights. And a Speedway somethingerother in an Aristocrat case for $5.00

Cool!!

The neurotic in me wants to take all the razors out of your rack and arrange them from longest to shortest, or perhaps a bell-curve sort of pattern if I could make it even enough on both sides.

Plisson European White Badger #12 with Antique Brass handle, courtesy of Fisherc.

LOVE it. Really different than my other brushes (Savile Row 3318, Dovo Silvertip, Kent BLK4). It much more scrubby, but in a good way. It feels solid, and densely packed. I am very fond of it. If these were all cars, I would say the Kent was a Bentley. The Dovo an Audi TT. The SR 3318 an MG. But, I can't quite place the Plisson.

I have collected these over the years- but just this week I received a Japanese Puzzle Box- always fun and the craftsmanship is very good-

Found a new supplier on the Internet and he is more than helpful in answering questions and finding what will fit your requests.

May I suggest Nefertiti by Miles Davis. Vinyl, of course.

Excellent suggestion! I had been thinking Muddy Waters, but Miles Davis hadn't come to mind.

DOVO Shavette w/ long blades, 2 awesome shaving bowls, my long deceased grandfather's Dopp kit (which I plan to restore and then use, as he would have wanted), 15 IP's from Dollar General, and finally some AV Musk.

I also scored my father a satin Futur, Feather Blades and a Vulfix 2234. Get this, I actually converted my father into a wetshaver instead of the other way around. He doesnt exactly know why he likes it but he loves it.

Bob, Don,

I really had to look. Finally had to go to a good friend. I have in my hands an almost mint condition 180g vinyl Nefertiti. Which side do you recommend? I'm not familiar with this particular album.

As with most jazz I would recommend starting at the intended beginning. I am of the belief the album itself is the piece of music, not the song.

Snagged 2 tubes of C&E Sienna shave cream as well as a Meuhl and Pinsell Shaving bowl at the Kitchener C&E today. They are closing and had a 50% off sale. If I had more cash I would have cleaned out the brushes and sold them here for a tidy profit.
I looked for some Sweet Almond cream but someone beat me to it today.
