Great shave last night. I've learned that my face gets angry when I load a feather in the slant.
So I used a derby in the slant. Arlington cream and aftershave. My wife said I smelled nice too.
A very satisfying shave and still smooth at lunchtime today.

Man was this a nice shave compared to the last one (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=33616). Ok i chickened out on the EW pass, but my face still has visible damage. One things for sure, it wasn't the razor. The Feather was 2 shaves old, maybe I should look into corking those things. Anyway, it was a nice shave.

Blade buffing is a technique using light, short, quick strokes. For me it is a to way smooth down some of areas that have some stubble left after my three passes.

Natch, mantic has a video on it. And it also sounds cool to say I do blade buffing. :cool:

After reading a thread about C&E soaps I decided to give mine a try as I haven't used it in quite some time. Actually performed rather well...goes on a bit "thick"...needed to add lots of water to the brush to build the lather to the correct consistency...but once there it performed perfectly. The scent is nice, but can border on smelling like "just another 'modern' fragrance."

Sliced off a zit or two with the AC, but a BBS in parts of my face, mince meat in a few others, and I still cannot shave under the chin at all. Great fun this straight journey...

P.S. I didn't use the Nivea, but DRH Milk instead.

Two Observations:
1. The Krona is my only razor and until further notice, will continue to be. Despite my sensitive skin, I get BBS shaves with very little irritation. I don't have to shave slowly and be deliberate. I just go. I'll still look at the pretty pictures of razors for sale but I know what I've got at home. :001_smile

2. After using a Feather blade for almost a week, it took a while to get used to a Super+ blade again. I had to do five passes and touchup with the Super+ to get the same results as three passes with the Feather. :blushing:

I've stopped using a balm after my splash(skin can be oily )and the results are really good.

I used to do that too and my skin would be so oily. I suggest using the balm first, followed by the splash. Give the balm a minute to soak in and then apply the splash as you normally would. Splashes never condition my face that well on their own. The balm is a good prep for my face before the splash. Also, the splash takes care of any extra moisture left over by the balm.

Today I tried this splash for the first time. My impression is that it is milder than the mild Spanish one, with less menthol. The scent is less powdery, which enabled me to get some floral notes in the scent, mostly jasmine. I will use the blue one tomorrow.

Running the Vision at the smallest blade gap - the thing is still a monster that needs to be tamed! Beat myself up a little more today than first time around with Vision yesterday. Going to dump the Merkur blade and try an IP or Derby. Still loving the sound this thing makes. Would not consider Vision, even dialed down to lowest setting, a good option for someone new to DE.

The best Mach 3 shave ive ever had, even though it still wasnt as good as a normal DE shave, it was decent. If your wondering why i shaved before my shower instead of after its because i always shower right before i go out the door and if i shave before i shower if i nick my self it has more time to heal up. Good prep is the key to a before shower shave or any shave for that matter.

I took it nice and steady without any ATG passes but still got a VERY close shave. No nicks or irritation (Old Spice told me so!).

For a couple of weeks before today I had been using the black plastic Wilkinson Sword razor and before that some orange 2-blade Bics to prepare my face.

My skin has never felt so good!!!
