Any beard lovers? [Archive]

Ok, so I know I'm posting this on a forum that's dedicated to the needs of SHAVING. I love a good, shave, I LOVE it! However, I also love a nice well groomed beard. Sometimes I don't like having a beard though. Right now, I'm in a beard loving phase. I still, however shave my neck everyday/every other day to maintain a well groomed beard and to keep up the beard line under my jawline (not to mention my neck hair itches like crazy.)

So my question is: does anyone else like beards or facial hair? You see, I'm getting my first DE razor and setup for christmas and my plan is to begin on my neck only. Is that a bad idea? Your thoughts...

I have a goatee and use a DE, go easy at first as your neck is one of the more sensitive areas to shave with a DE.

I wish I could pull off a goatee, it's just not me. I look a lot better with a beard though. And thanks for the tip!

I grew a beard a year ago just to do something different. I still had to shave my neck, but I didn't get the satisfaction that I get now with my daily shave.

I'm usually bearded late fall through late spring. Full beard, minimal every other day shaving of the neckline and cheek line. I'm clean shaven the rest of the time.

I've had a goatee for the past 6 years. Since I started wetshaving and went DE I groom and even use special conditioners on the goatee to make it look good. I'l be posting a nice pictorial soon.

I've had a goatee for the past 10 years or so. My wife does NOT like it when I shave it off. Sometimes I get mad and shave it off because its all uneven, but I have to grow it back immediately.

When it get's uneven I make sure my barber "refurbishes" it.
