I've been experimenting with one of Kyle's theories. More passes, but using very long almost fast strokes. I did 2 N-S, 2 S-N and 2 Horizontal Ear to Nose passes. 1st pass with the Progress set at 2, 2nd pass with it set at 4.5. It worked pretty well and that soap of yours does provide some protection. :wink:

The 1805 is great stuff. I don't like the scent as well as some of the other cologne scents out there (Floris Santal, TOBS Eton College), but man it's a great performing cream, and for that matter alone I think it just found it's way onto my wish list.

** This thing is wicked sharp. The easiest razor I have honed so far. Either I’m getting better or this is one easy razor to hone up. And I managed to cut myself on my left cheekbone. I got complacent and this blade bit me pretty hard. About ½ in. long took 15 min. to stop the blood flow.

A quick, crappy one-pass shave today, because the Classic Bay Rum shaving cream lit my face on fire!:spockflam I highly recommend you request a sample of this cream before you buy. It did whip up quite a nice lather, though.

At least it gave me a reason to use that smiley.

Relaxing Saturday morning shave before the hell storm of busy traffic and impatient Christmas shoppers. Sorry, I am just trying to put myself in the proper frame of mind for the coming ordeal. But come this evening it will be over. I hope.

This is the first time I have used this razor, and in my experience these types have been a bit aggressive. I think they were designed with a thicker blade in mind, but this one performed superbly this morning. Not one nick and not the slightest hint of irritation to sooth. I am giving credit to the Derby blade and the Lucky Tiger.

With a BBS shave I am off to the malls to finish Christmas shopping. :scared: :crying:

Second safety shave... Three passes this time and a shave as good as a Mach 3. I know I didn't keep the angle right, and actually I think the blade crapped out midway through the first pass, it no longer felt like it was cutting anything...

NOS dubl duck 6/8 Satinedge - Ivo gave me the idea of shaving with it out of the bag since it said hair tested and when I took a sweep on my forearm it made a clean sweep. So I said what hell, let me tell you this razor shaved it needs a little polish. It shaved like it came off the 8k side of a Norton. Which is more then you can say for the new Dovo's or TI's. :thumbup1:

This 3 pass method worked really nicely today. I stopped trying to shave with the grain exclusively followed by 2 xtg passes at different angles. This method gave me a closer, more comfortable shave.

I don't think that it will go to nothing else. I received my puck as a gift with instructions on it's use. As I sadly watch it wear down, I realize that one day it will be gone and baring the kindness of another bequest, I shall return to the plethora of soaps and creams that I had to be satisfied with before. Such is life. Variety must make up for deficiencies in lots of things. :biggrin:
