Anyone out there ever used one of these stones ?.I'm new to honing so I'd like to keep things simple and inexpensive .As these are about £10 it fits the bill .Appreciate any views on the stone .

Re the Canadian Silicone Carbide: I'm not familiar with them, but am curious. Is the stone recommended for razors? Silicone carbide is certainly hard enough to hone just about anything, but is it fine enough for honing a razor? Do you have any specs you can send along? It probably should be in the range of an 8,000 to 10,000 grit stone to work right.

has anyone used one of these?
It looks like a 2 sided stone, and based on how coarse the bottom portion looks (without the logo on it) I'd venture to guess this is not anywhere close to something that should be used on a straight razor.
Without knowing the grit size it is mere speculation whether or not it is suitable for honing a str8. The vendor should be able to find out from the manufacturer.
