Royall Colognes.

How about longevity?

I use the Lyme and as with most citrus scents, its longevity is not very long. On me, maybe an hour. I also use the Musk, and that one lasts for the most of the day. I can usually find these at scentiments for about $19 for a 4 oz. bottle.

Wouldn't necessarily recommend paying that high of a price per oz., though (i.e. double that of Scentiments or some of the other common online suppliers.)

This is my choice for every day use. The scent is pretty much as the name implies: lime. Very nice at that. This is an alcohol based lotion and provides a stinging sensation to the freshly shaved face. To me this is refreshing and feels as if the alcohol might be wiping out any germs lurking about any micro-abrasions. (Can't confirm any medicinal benefit.)

Although I like the scent a lot, I am happy that it goes away before long. Isn't this the way a toiletry should be?

I have, use and enjoy both Lime and Mandarin. Both are excellent scents but don't last past an hour or two for me.

I use the Lime as a cologne. It doesn't last more than 45 minutes to an hour. The Hawaiian weather is great for wearing lime. I like being able to use another another fragarence later in the day.

Sometimes a spray some Pinaud Bay Rum over the lime (just a little or it will over power the lime).

I am a huge fan of the Royall line up. I have Lime, Mandarin, Muske and Vetyer, all great scents. I can smell them for 2-4 hours after application.

Smaller bottles usually cost more per ounce. If you don't necessarily know you'll like something, or have a huge collection, the higher price per ounce is sometimes worth it when you don't want to buy as much.

Agreed. Only was mentioning it in this case, as you can get the 4 oz. for essentially the same price as ShavingEssential was offering the 2 oz. And with Royall (as light and fleeting as it is), there really is no such thing is overapplying, so it may be very easy to find the 2 oz. uneconomical.

I use their bay rum and spyce. Not so fond of the spyce, and I wish the bay rum had a bit more logevity.

Jumping in a bit late, but I have used both the Lyme and the Bay Rum and liked them a lot. I haven't used them lately because I haven't seem them for sale in a while here in Houston. The scent is good, but does not last long.

You might consider getting the sample package they sell. I had one that contained Bay Rhum, Lyme, Mandarine and Musk. That way you get to try a "Royall variety". I liked all except for the Musk but then even that one grew on me and I would apply it on special occasions when I wanted an aftershave scent to linger.

For me, Lyme and Bay Rhum scents dissipate almost immediately. Mandarine last many hours into the day and Musk lasts all day.

All scents above give a pretty strong burn if you are nicked up and they do not have as much good stufff for your face compared to something like Musgo Real. Yet I still love these Royall "all purpose lotions".

Can someone describe Royall's Bay Rum? I really like the dominica Bay Rum. Is it anything like that?
