View Full Version : Melting Tabac into Anchor Hocking bowls?

So, I'm really torn between buying Tabac in its own bowl and just buying the refill puck. If I get the refill puck, (1) will it hurt the soap to melt it into an Anchor Hocking bowl; and (2) will it fit into an Anchor Hocking bowl?

Thanks!

It will hurt it. Tabac has one of the most reasonably prices and effective bowls on the market, and it stacks easily (if you keep it on the bottom!). Buy the soap in the bowl. You won't regret it for even two seconds.

Could not have said it any better. A huge +1

There is a way to grate a triple milled soap with a cheese grater and then press it into a bowl. There was a thread a while back regarding this technique. But the Tabac bowl and refill are reasonably priced and are really cool, too.

Thanks for all the quick replies, gents. That was exactly why I asked. I'll definitely get the bowl. It wasn't the cost of the bowl so much as it was me wanting it to match my others. Definitely a case of OCD.

Thanks again!

Perhaps it would look right if you arranged the Anchor Hocking bowls around it in a circle!

The tabac refill fits into the 1 cup anchor hocking bowls. Just press it down (firmly) and presto!

i spent a bit more, gut the white ceramic bowl, if you dont like the tabac print on it, you can use a sugar cube to erase it,

its a trick i learnen to remove telco brandings from cellphones it dosnt hurt the laquer layer, but it scrapes away the paint print ontop of it,
just dont use on the screen :p

What a great tip to pass on re: sugar cube.
