Should have my first DE razor in my mailbox when I get home :001_cool: Parker 99R. I was gonnna ask all here for advice on cream/soap, post shave , for my dopp bag. I rarely shave at home because I hit the gym at 5 am, hit the shower and then to work. Is there a good cream/soap I don't have to lather or should I get a brush/bowl/soap for my dopp bag???? Lookin forward to this adventure in shaving and appreciate all coments!! THX in advance !!!

Welcome to B&B, Sir! Not sure what a "dopp bag" is, but, anyway, you could get an inexpensive starter kit to begin. Give a look at what the B&B Supporting Vendors have to offer!

There are many great creams you can use (I prefer TOBS). You can also consider face or hand lathering if you don't want to use a bowl.

Welcome sir.
you might want to try out a shave stick and an inexpensive brush with a large medicine bottle to keep it in. I have seen guys drill a couple small holes in the end to let it get some air and use that for travel/gym.
tey also mak travel brushes that come with the own containers so that field is wide open.
i just saw that mystic waters has shaving sticks in just about all their scents. I can't say enough good things about tem, great scent, great later, great protection.
i have also seen people grate other soaps and put them in containers like glue sticks dispensers or deodorant dispensers, so yo have a variety of options choices there as well.
for the budget minded Arko, gets lots of press around here is a great performing soap, in my experience it is ve good and has found its way into my rotation. And I have seen several guys put that into a container, I believe West Coast Shaving carries one.
Or you can always try Kiss My Face moisture shave, the instructions on the bottle say to just rub it in your hand before applyingnitnto your face and that could be agood option. I have only used I with a brush, so I can't comment on how well it works per instructions by the manufactuer.
In my opinion, there is no set standard that everybody has to use or do, so experiment and see what works best.
i can say that DE shaving has completely changed how I viewed the everyday chore of whisker reduction.

Hi there, Welcome to B&B. There are a lot of people here that only face lather so there is no need for a bowl. Brush: If you are unsure if you will stick it through the learning curve, get a $5 brush at your nearest drug mart (that's how I started and now own much more costly brushes). Soaps/cream: There is more out there than any one man can try and most are good for many types of skin and sensitivity. Asking what soap is good is like walking into an ice cream factory and asking which flavor is best. We will all have a different answer for you. The 3T are great traditional English shaves (Trumper (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Geo_F_Trumper), Taylor (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Taylor_of_Old_Bond_Street) and Truefitt & Hill (http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Truefitt_and_Hill)). If you are just starting off, I would say while you are at your nearest drug mart find a tube of proraso which should be in $5 to $10 range and a good Italian reference point for all other soaps and creams that you'll test afterwards.
