I'm certainly addicted to BBC, but have noticed that I'm becoming addicted to BBS as well. It just seems that anything less is not good enough, and I'll stand in front of the mirror for quite a while going after any leftover stubble. Am I the only one?

There's something about wet-shaving that makes it hard to leave any hair on your face.

You are definitely not alone. However, over time I've managed to learn how to reduce the time it takes to get a BBS shave. Now, my normal shave is a BBS shave. Previously, I would've needed an extra 10-15 minutes to get there.

I'm still in the "trying everything" phase, so some days it's easy, and some days I just get a blade I don't like.

I am much the same way. Gotta have that BBS shave and anything less is unacceptable.
I have added blade buffing to the morning routine, and I guess it now counts as a fourth pass. I used to just use it on my trouble spots, mostly around the chin and neck, but now the whole beard area gets the treatement. The results have been amazing.

Last week I had to bail out on my third pass because the blade needed to see the hone in a bad way.
I was twitchy, grumpy and agitated all day long.
But I can quit anytime... really....
you are not alone. I aim for it everyday. have been getting them more often and quicker, but I still do spend too much time on it.:blushing:

If my face doesn't feel smooth after shaving, I feel like I've wasted my time.

Yes, shaving is kind of like sanding drywall, you check it with your hands not your eyes.

Same here, I've got to be fully smooth, even to the point of being late for work. Well, I'm self employed but still...

I ask my wife to score my shave with 10 being the best. If I don't get a 10, I get a little depressed. Eventually I inspect my work looking for where my strokes are less than ideal. I would take out the razor but I agreed NOT to do this because I don't get a good score otherwise she would always give it a 10 just to not feed my Shaving OCD.

How can you be addicted to something that you've ... never .... quite .... had ....?
Paul
(P.S. I'm still a newlywed. We score out of 10, but it's not devolved to shaves ... yet.)
I ALWAYS shoot for BBS. There is nothing wrong with that. IMO all wetshavers should go for BBS.

No! Wetshavers should shoot for as close as they
want without any irritation. For some this may be
BBS, perhaps not for others.

My cheeks, chin, and lips are always smooth. But curse my neck! Curse it I say!
